The frantic pace of modern life fragments us and leaves us feeling scattered and stretched. This is a day of turning in and coming back together. It is designed to be a day to come back to yourself, some space and time to let go off what is no longer needed and reconnect to your deeper self - leaving you feeling centred and more whole.

Yoga is all about internal awareness with the postures (asana) used as a vehicle to access the inner self. Emphasis is placed on the breath using it as a way to feel into our body. Asana practice always concludes with either pranayama or meditation and then a guided relaxation

Chakradance is a dance practice for body and soul. It’s a powerful experience that will free and energize you. It combines spontaneous dance, guided imagery and music to promote that wonderful state of calm vitality known as “well- being”. The music resonates deeply with each of the seven major energy centres - chakras - in turn.

Chakradance is not about steps or performance; you dance with your eyes closed in a darkened room. It’s more like a dynamic, moving meditation. It’s completely about freedom of expression; there is no right way to Chakradance as everyone has his or her own rhythm and movement, that will vary day to day. With its roots in Jungian psychology, Chakradance encourages people to dance for self-discovery and self-healing.

In a sound bath you lie (fully clothed) on a yoga mat, close your eyes and relax while you are bathed in powerful sound waves created from gongs, Quartz crystal and Himalayan singing bowls and grounding instruments.

This is followed by a period of silence known as "the Shunyata" in which the body is allowed space to absorb the energy.

Healing through sound brings the physical body, mind and soul into a state of natural balance and harmony.

Experienced and qualified practioners will lead you on a journey of release and rebalancing - and feed you well in the middle (it can be hungry work!)

About the facilitatiors.

Cathy Ibbotson

I am a certified BWY Instructor, Traditional Thai Massage therapist

and also qualified to teach Children’s Yoga and Mindfulness’

I’ve been practicing yoga since 2004 and I get more passionate about it the longer I practice. Yoga has brought so many positive changes (and people) into my life and the lessons learnt on the mat are invaluable when faced with the realities of day to day living. The beauty of yoga is that it has something for everyone with age, level of fitness and abilities mattering not a bit.

I believe yoga should be fun and enjoyable and try to keep my classes lighthearted, encouraging anyone with questions to ask rather than feel that they can’t interrupt the session. Namaste.

Rosalind Daws

I am a reiki and crystal practioner and teacher with 18 years experience. I've practised yoga for as long and love to dance. Chakradane combines my knowledge of the energy system with my love of feeling better through movement and music. I love the accesibilty and freedom to just be who and where you are in that moment, without judgement. It has helped me to let go of many burdens and feel happier and more at ease in myself.
