Winter can feel bleak sometimes. This session offers an opportunity to cozy up and embrace the darker months. The yoga practice will reflect the rhythms of nature. Having spent sunny days this summer practicing sun salutations at the beach, now the dark nights have drawn in and we move toward the darkest and quietest time of the year. Â
All around us in nature things are turning inward, taking time to rest and replenish. We too can take the opportunity to draw our own awareness inward, to honour the stillness, take stock and draw strength from our inner light.    Winter is the most yin time of year. In  traditional Chinese medicine, winter is governed by the kidneys, where vital energy or Qi is stored and directed to places in the body that are running low .
Yin yoga consists of floor based postures that are held in stillness, usually for 3 minuets or more; the practice is deep and meditative. The practice encourages you to let go of tension and move towards a place of stillness, where  the body is relaxed, and you become systematically and increasingly aware of your inner world.
We are constantly influenced by heard and unheard sound frequencies and receiving a Gong Bath can help reduce stress, alter consciousness and create a deep sense of peace and wellbeing for better health. The perfect match to Yin Yoga.
Please bring a mat, blankets, bolster, eye mask and a pillow to make a comfortable nest! Please also bring some water.Â
All followed by some light refreshments.
Please get in touch if you have any medical conditions, sometimes yoga and sound is not appropriate.
Feel free to get in touch with any questions,
